How We Calculate This
The math behind the numbers

Most robot vacuum ROI calculators either ignore your time entirely or use generic national averages that don't reflect your situation. We do it differently — your hourly rate, your cleaning habits, your vacuum cost.

The core formula values the time you reclaim each week at your stated hourly rate, then subtracts the total cost of ownership — purchase price spread over the lifespan, plus annual maintenance. The result is your true net return.

We are not affiliated with any robot vacuum brand. No manufacturer pays us to show favorable results. Your inputs drive the output — nothing else.
⏱️
Time Value of Money
Your hourly rate represents what your time is worth to you — not your salary, not a national average. If you value your free time at $30/hr that's the number that matters.
🔄
Annual Savings Calculation
Weekly hours saved × 52 weeks × your hourly rate = gross annual time savings. We then subtract annual maintenance costs to get your net annual return.
📅
Payback Period
How many months until your net annual savings cover the purchase price. Calculated as: purchase cost ÷ (net annual savings ÷ 12).

Maintenance Assumptions
Includes replacement filters, brushes, and occasional repairs. Default is $75/yr based on typical mid-range model ownership data. Adjust to your real costs.
